All our lessons are in English but the children also receive four hours a week of Afrikaans (A local South African language, stemming from Dutch)
We have a nice mix of boys and girls from differing backgrounds, races and religions. The subjects we offer are: English, Afrikaans, Maths, History, Geography, Science, Technology, Computers, Life Orientation, Art, Music and Economic Management Science.
The school day is from 8am - 2:30pm. We also offer a 30min homework period from 2:30 - 3pm Monday to Thursday. Some children stay after school in "Aftercare" while their parents are at work. They receive a hot lunch and stay as late as 6pm.
My name is Iain Johnson . I was born in Cape Town and live in the Southern Suburb of Muizenburg. 2009 was my first year at this school after teaching for 12 years in the Southern Suburbs. I am primarily a music teacher, but I have taught all of the learning areas in the Intermediate Phase (Grades 4 - 6)
I am a Grade 4 class teacher. I teach Music to Grades 4 - 9 and Mathematics to Grades 4 - 6.
The goal of my teaching is to empower my learners to make wise decisions, to treat others with love and kindness and to always try their best, no matter the result.
